I am a certified and licensed teacher here in Clark County, Las Vegas, Nevada, and I have extensive teaching experience at many different levels:
- I have been in the classroom for the past 14 years as a Substitute Teacher and Classroom Teacher. I’ve also taught grades 1 – 5 at a Private School in Las Vegas.
- I've taught Math and Algebra courses at the Community College of Southern Nevada and National University.
- I’ve also been involved with Adult Education for many of those years. I’ve been involved with the Computer Assisted Literacy in Libraries (CALL) Program, which teaches illiterate adults how to read; and I currently co-teach an English as a Second Language class at Desert Rose Adult High School to adult students for whom English is not their primary language.
This year, I decided not to return to the classroom full time, so I could start my own tutoring business and work with students who want to learn, and teach them they way they need to learn.
I don’t use a “one-size-fits-all” program when I tutor:
I’m often asked what “program” I use when I tutor. My response is that I don’t use a “set” program that is supposed to work for every student.
With my teaching experience, I can determine very quickly how each student learns, and tailor my tutoring accordingly.
